The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) is the leading university in the Czech Republic focused on economics, finance, and business and management. The VSE campus is positioned in the center of Prague. 

With around 17,000 students, the number of applicants considerably exceeds the university’s capacity every year, thus entrance is competitive. VŠE offers a broad spectrum of programs and courses taught in English, Czech and Russian which are available to both international and Czech students.

Bachelor’s Taught in English

Business AdministrationThe mission of our Bachelor of Business Administration degree is to inspire and to educate future business professionals focused on managing business performance and characterized with a broad economic overview, analytical thinking and social responsibility.
EconomicsThe main objective of our program is to create qualified professional economists who will be able to jump into the public and private sectors nationally or internationally.
International BusinessGraduates of IBB have extended practical competences based on theoretical knowledge in the fields of international business and management. They are prepared to work in mid-level management positions in multinational corporations, international and national export companies, in retailing businesses as well as in financial and governmental institutions.

Master’s Taught in English 

International Business – Central European Business RealitiesThe program was established to address the specificities and characteristics of the Central European business environment within the framework of the increasing trends of globalization. It provides students with a comprehensive business education in the main fields of economics, management, finance, marketing and negotiations.
Finance and AccountingNew two-year full time Master´s programme taught in English is opened at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, University of Economics, Prague
International and Diplomatic StudiesThe program covers the fields of international politics, international economy, international law, comparative politics, diplomatic history, as well as diplomatic theory and practice. A strong emphasis is placed on issues regarding the European Union, yet the program includes a variety of optional courses on comparative politics and international relations in other parts of the world, too.
Economics of Globalization and European IntegrationMaster of Arts (M.A.) in Economics of Globalization and European Integration program offers advanced courses in the fields of economics of globalization, international trade and integration. It will be organized at universities in France, Belgium, Italy and the Czech Republic from September 2018 – January 2020.

Information Systems ManagementThe ISM Master Programme is designed to train specialists in the development and management of information systems, existing either in business companies or the public sector, able to flexibly respond to the needs and challenges of the continuously changing IS/ICT and business environments.
Official StatisticsMaster in Official Statistics (MOS) provides students with an advanced training in specific themes of statistics in general or official statistics.  The main objective of MOS is to enhance the abilities of students to understand national and European official data (quality, production process, dissemination) and to analyse them in a national, European and international context using statistical, demographic and econometrical methods.
Quantitative Economic AnalysisQEA graduates will be able to use quantitative methods and tools in operational research, decision analysis, statistics and econometrics. They will have gained experience with using different software products and will be able to build comprehensive optimization and econometric models and provide deep statistical analysis.

MBA’s Taught in English

Masters Business Administration

The MBA program enhances the participants profile through the acquired field-related knowledge, comprehension of contemporary trends and the demands of managerial practice. Using specialized modules, the program offers professionals from various sector and disciplines that currently hold or aspire to leadership positions, an innovative portfolio of course offerings.

Ph.D. Programs Taught in English

At University of Economics, Prague, you can choose from 6 faculties offering 8 study programmes divided into 15 study branches. All of the study branches can be studied either in English or in the Czech language.

All the branches are offered in two modes of study:

On-site mode – students attend the consultations and workshops, take part in research work and teaching activities and perform other duties according to the Study and Examination Regulations (as of September 1st, 2017 this file is no longer relevant and will be updated soon).
Distance/combined mode – students are expected to work on their own to a large extent, therefore they do not attend the lectures or seminars daily, only meet their tutors for consultations and to sit the exams.

The university places a high priority on internationalization and cooperates with more than 220 universities worldwide. VŠE is also a member of numerous international organizations and networks. From a strategic perspective, membership in CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education), PIM (The Partnership in International Management) and AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is especially important. The Faculty of Business Administration is EQUIS accredited, which ranks the faculty among the top 1% of business schools in the world.
